Self (album)
Self is the self-titled debut album by the alternative rock band Self, released in 1995 on Spongebath Records. The album is notable for its lo-fi production and eclectic instrumentation, often incorporating toy instruments and unconventional sound effects. "So Low," "Cannon," and "Sassy Caddy" were released as singles, garnering some college radio airplay and helping to establish the band's unique sound. The album's lyrics explore themes of adolescence, suburban life, and existential angst with a blend of humor and cynicism. It is considered a key album in the development of the indie pop and alternative rock scenes of the mid-1990s. The album was later re-released with bonus tracks and re-mastered audio.
