Stanley Palmer (artist)

Stanley Palmer (born 1936) is a prominent New Zealand artist known primarily for his printmaking, painting, and watercolour works. He is particularly recognized for his depictions of the New Zealand landscape, often employing a distinctive linear style and a muted palette.

Palmer studied at the Elam School of Fine Arts at the University of Auckland. His early work focused on the human figure but gradually shifted towards landscape, becoming his dominant subject matter. He frequently explores themes of isolation, the passage of time, and the relationship between humanity and the natural environment.
