Stadionul Tudor Vladimirescu (1963)
Stadionul Tudor Vladimirescu was a multi-purpose stadium located in Târgu Jiu, Romania. It was primarily used for football matches and was the home ground of Pandurii Târgu Jiu.
The stadium was initially built and opened in 1963. It was named after Tudor Vladimirescu, a Romanian revolutionary hero. Over the years, the stadium underwent several renovations and upgrades.
The stadium's capacity varied slightly over its history but generally held around 20,000 spectators. It featured a grass playing surface surrounded by a running track. The stands were primarily uncovered, offering open-air seating.
In the 2010s, plans were made for the construction of a new, modern stadium in Târgu Jiu. Consequently, Stadionul Tudor Vladimirescu was eventually demolished to make way for the new arena. The new stadium, also named Stadionul Tudor Vladimirescu, was built on the same site and opened in 2019.
