The Southwest Corridor is a former rail corridor in Massachusetts, primarily within the city of Boston and extending into several surrounding communities. It's now largely a multi-use path, but its history is closely tied to the development and transportation of the region.

History

Originally built in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the corridor served as a vital rail line for freight and passenger service.
