Sorgono
Sorgono is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Nuoro in the Italian region Sardinia, located about 90 kilometers (56 miles) north of Cagliari and about 35 kilometers (22 miles) southwest of Nuoro. Situated in the Mandrolisai sub-region, known for its wine production, Sorgono's economy is based primarily on agriculture, pastoralism, and related industries.
Historically, the area has been inhabited since Nuragic times, as evidenced by the presence of numerous Nuragic sites in the surrounding area. The town itself developed during the Middle Ages.
Sorgono is also known for its traditional festivals and crafts, particularly related to textiles and woodworking. The landscape surrounding Sorgono is characterized by hills, forests, and vineyards.
