Socialist Workers Movement (Mexico)

The Socialist Workers Movement (Spanish: Movimiento Socialista de los Trabajadores, MST) is a Trotskyist political organization in Mexico. Founded in 1979, the MST identifies with the Fourth International. The organization is active in labor unions, student movements, and social struggles.

The MST's political program advocates for a socialist revolution in Mexico, arguing for the overthrow of capitalism and the establishment of a workers' state. Key tenets of their ideology include internationalism, the importance of the working class as the agent of social change, and the need for a revolutionary party to lead the struggle. They have participated in various elections, often running candidates for local and national office to promote their socialist platform.

The MST publishes a newspaper, El Socialista, which serves as a platform to disseminate their views and analysis of political and economic issues. The organization also engages in theoretical work and education, aiming to raise the political consciousness of workers and youth. Over the years, the MST has been involved in various campaigns and mobilizations against neoliberal policies, privatization, and other issues affecting the working class in Mexico.
