Ski (drink)
Ski is a regional citrus-flavored soft drink, primarily associated with the southern United States, particularly Tennessee, Kentucky, Illinois, and Indiana. It is characterized by its high sugar content, bright yellow color, and strong citrus flavor, often described as a combination of orange and lemon-lime. Ski is produced by the Double-Cola Company.
The drink was introduced in 1956 by Fairmount Foods, Inc. of Greenville, South Carolina. The Double-Cola Company acquired the brand in 1972. Ski is typically sold in bottles and cans, and is known for its distinctive, somewhat retro, branding.
Ski has a loyal following in its core market, often associated with local traditions and regional pride. It can be found in grocery stores, convenience stores, and restaurants throughout its distribution area. While its popularity remains strong in the South, it is not widely distributed nationally. The Double-Cola Company also produces diet versions of Ski to cater to health-conscious consumers.
