Ryan Lamb (Emmerdale)
Ryan Lamb was a fictional character in the British soap opera Emmerdale, played by James Sutton. He was introduced on 21 May 2009 as the illegitimate son of Faye Lamb (Kim Thomson) and the estranged son of Mark Wylde (Maxwell Caulfield).
Ryan's arrival in the village was initially shrouded in mystery, as Faye kept his identity a secret. His storylines primarily revolved around his complex family relationships, particularly his resentment towards Mark for abandoning him and Faye, and his developing relationships with his half-siblings Nathan (Lyndon Ogbourne), Maisie (Alice Coulthard), and Will (Oliver Mellor). He also had romantic relationships with Katie Sugden (Sammy Winward) and Siobhan Sharpe (Abigail Fisher).
Key storylines included Ryan's struggle to accept Mark as his father, his involvement in Mark's death (indirectly, as he witnessed Nathan running Mark down), his troubled relationship with Faye, his brief marriage to Katie, and his battles with alcohol and gambling addiction. He also faced legal trouble, including accusations of fraud.
Ryan departed Emmerdale on 20 April 2011, leaving for Canada to start a new life. His exit was prompted by his gambling debts and a desire to escape the shadow of his past. His character was known for his troubled nature and his capacity for both charm and self-destruction.
