Ruth Tuck

Ruth Tuck (1896-1984) was an Australian artist, art teacher, and arts administrator known for her watercolor landscapes and seascapes, particularly those depicting scenes of the Australian coastline and outback.

Born in Adelaide, South Australia, Tuck studied at the South Australian School of Arts and Crafts. She was a member of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts, serving as president from 1964 to 1967, the first woman to hold the position. Her work is represented in numerous public and private collections, including the Art Gallery of South Australia.

Tuck was a significant figure in the South Australian art scene for much of the 20th century, contributing not only through her artistic practice but also through her dedication to arts education and administration.
