Roland Oliver (judge)
Roland Oliver (1921-2007) was a British barrister and High Court judge. He was educated at Harrow and Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and called to the Bar by Lincoln's Inn in 1948.
Oliver practiced as a barrister specializing in commercial law and became a Queen's Counsel in 1965. He was appointed to the High Court in 1974, assigned to the Chancery Division, and knighted. He served as a High Court judge until his retirement in 1986.
Oliver was known for his sharp intellect, meticulous attention to detail, and profound understanding of legal principles. He presided over several significant cases during his judicial career. After retirement, he remained active in legal circles, occasionally sitting as a Deputy High Court Judge.
