Rod Perry
Rod Perry (born August 15, 1941) is an American professional golfer.
Perry was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia. He turned professional in 1964 and joined the PGA Tour in 1966.
Perry achieved his greatest success in the 1970s. His most notable accomplishment was winning the 1977 PGA Championship at Pebble Beach Golf Links, defeating Ben Crenshaw by four strokes. This was his only major championship victory.
In addition to his PGA Championship win, Perry won four other PGA Tour events: the 1973 National Airlines Open Invitational, the 1973 Atlanta Classic, the 1975 Western Open, and the 1978 Southern Open.
Perry played on the 1977 Ryder Cup team.
After his regular tour career, Perry played on the Senior PGA Tour (now PGA Tour Champions).
Perry is a member of the West Virginia Golf Hall of Fame.
