Southbound (festival)

Southbound was an annual music and camping festival held in Busselton, Western Australia, typically during the New Year's period. Founded in 2005, it showcased a diverse range of Australian and international contemporary music acts, spanning genres such as rock, indie, electronic, hip hop, and folk.

The festival was known for its relaxed atmosphere and picturesque location, drawing large crowds to the South West region of Western Australia. Southbound offered multiple stages, camping facilities, and various food and beverage options. Beyond the musical performances, the festival sometimes included art installations and other entertainment.

Southbound experienced challenges throughout its history, including the cancellation of the 2016 event due to a devastating bushfire that swept through the festival site just days before it was scheduled to begin. While there were later attempts to revive the festival, Southbound was ultimately discontinued after 2016.
