Robert Shaw (American football)
Robert Shaw (born November 3, 1956) is a former American football center who played twelve seasons in the National Football League (NFL).
Career
Shaw was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the first round (28th overall) of the 1979 NFL Draft. He played for the Cowboys from 1979 to 1988 and for the San Diego Chargers in 1990. During his time with the Cowboys, he was a key member of their offensive line and contributed to the team's success in the early to mid-1980s. He was known for his intelligence, durability, and strong blocking skills. While never selected for the Pro Bowl, he was consistently rated as one of the top centers in the league during his career. Shaw was a starting center for most of his tenure with the Cowboys, providing stability and leadership on the offensive line. He retired after one season with the Chargers.
