Henry Thomas (American football)
Henry Thomas (born December 26, 1964, in Wharton, Texas, died March 8, 2018, in Houston, Texas) was an American professional football player who played as a defensive tackle in the National Football League (NFL) for 14 seasons.
Thomas attended Wharton High School and played college football at Louisiana State University (LSU). He was a consensus All-American in 1986.
Thomas was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings in the third round (77th overall) of the 1987 NFL Draft. He played for the Vikings from 1987 to 1994. He then played for the Detroit Lions (1995-1996), and finished his career with the New England Patriots (1997-2000).
During his NFL career, Thomas was known for his exceptional strength and quickness. He was a Pro Bowl selection in 1992 and 1993. He played in 207 career games, starting 192 of them.
