Robert Francis (politician)

Robert Francis (born August 29, 1977) is a Canadian politician and lawyer who served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Argenteuil—La Petite-Nation in Quebec from 2015 to 2019. He is a member of the Liberal Party of Canada.

Early Life and Career:

Francis holds a law degree from the Université de Montréal. Prior to entering federal politics, he worked as a lawyer specializing in civil and commercial litigation.

Political Career:

He was first elected to the House of Commons in the 2015 federal election, defeating the incumbent New Democratic Party MP. During his term, he served on several parliamentary committees, including the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights. Francis focused on issues important to his riding, such as infrastructure development and support for local businesses. He sought re-election in the 2019 federal election but was defeated by the Bloc Québécois candidate.
