Rissopsis

Rissopsis is a genus of extinct marine reptiles belonging to the ichthyosauriformes. These reptiles lived during the Early Triassic period. Fossils attributed to Rissopsis have been found in Europe. The genus is characterized by its relatively small size and features that place it near the base of the ichthyosauriform evolutionary tree. Its discovery contributes to understanding the early diversification of ichthyosaurs and their adaptation to marine environments following the Permian-Triassic extinction event.
