Richard Thomas (actor)
Richard Earl Thomas (born June 13, 1951) is an American actor. He is best known for his leading role as John-Boy Walton in the CBS drama The Waltons, for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 1973.
Thomas began his acting career early, appearing in television commercials and stage productions. Before The Waltons, he had roles in the television soap opera As the World Turns and the film Winning. Following the success of The Waltons, Thomas appeared in numerous television films and miniseries, including Roots: The Next Generations and It.
Throughout his career, Thomas has continued to work in theater, appearing in Broadway productions of Fifth of July, An Enemy of the People, and The Little Foxes. He has also performed in regional theater productions.
In more recent years, Thomas has appeared in television series such as The Americans, Billions, and Ozark. He continues to act in film, television, and theater. Thomas's work has earned him critical acclaim and numerous awards nominations.
