Corton (restaurant)
Corton was a fine dining restaurant located in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York City. It operated from 2008 to 2013 and was owned and operated by Chef Paul Liebrandt.
Corton was known for its modern and inventive French-inspired cuisine. Liebrandt's cooking incorporated avant-garde techniques and unexpected flavor combinations, earning the restaurant widespread critical acclaim. The restaurant's name, "Corton," refers to a Burgundy Grand Cru wine.
Corton quickly earned two Michelin stars, which it maintained throughout its run. The restaurant also received high ratings from The New York Times and other prominent publications. The dining room was elegantly designed, providing a sophisticated and intimate atmosphere.
Despite its critical success, Corton closed in 2013. Liebrandt went on to pursue other culinary ventures. While the restaurant is no longer in operation, it remains a notable example of high-end dining in New York City during its time.
