Richard Reynell (knight)

Sir Richard Reynell (d. 1634) was an English knight and landowner active during the reigns of Elizabeth I and James I. He was a member of the Devonshire Reynell family, seated at East Ogwell.

Reynell was knighted in 1603. He served as High Sheriff of Devon in 1592. Little specific detail is readily available regarding his public life, though his social standing as a knight and sheriff of Devon indicates his involvement in local administration and gentry society.

His will was proved in 1634, suggesting his death occurred that year or shortly before. He was succeeded by his heirs in the family estates and titles. Further research into Devonshire records and genealogical sources may provide more detailed information about his life and career.
