Richard Meier (politician)

Richard Meier (born October 10, 1947) is a Swiss politician. He is a member of the Swiss People's Party (SVP). Meier served as a member of the National Council from 1999 to 2015, representing the canton of Zurich. He was particularly active on issues related to security policy, transport, and finance. Meier is known for his conservative positions and strong advocacy for Swiss independence. He has held various positions within the SVP at the cantonal and national levels. Before entering national politics, he was involved in local government in the canton of Zurich.
