The Old Curiosity Shop (1984 film)

The Old Curiosity Shop is a 1984 television film adaptation of Charles Dickens's 1841 novel of the same name. Produced by Arbor International for CBS, it stars Peter O'Toole as Swiveller and is directed by Michael Tuchner. The film tells the story of Little Nell Trent and her grandfather, who run a shop filled with curiosities. To provide for Nell, the grandfather gambles, falling into debt to the sinister Daniel Quilp. As their debts mount, they are forced to flee London, embarking on a journey through the English countryside while attempting to evade Quilp and his machinations.
