Rib Mountain (CDP), Wisconsin
Rib Mountain is a census-designated place (CDP) in Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States. It is located in the Town of Rib Mountain, surrounding the city of Wausau on three sides (east, south, and west). As of the 2020 census, the population of Rib Mountain was 7,046.
The CDP is primarily residential and commercial, with a mix of single-family homes, apartment complexes, and retail businesses. It is known for its proximity to Rib Mountain State Park, home to Rib Mountain, a prominent quartzite monadnock rising over 600 feet above the surrounding terrain. Granite Peak Ski Area, located within the state park, is a popular destination for skiing and snowboarding in the winter months.
