Renater

Renater is the French national research and education network (NREN). It provides network connectivity and related services to French research and education institutions, including universities, research laboratories, and other educational organizations.

Renater aims to foster collaboration and innovation within the French research and education community by providing high-speed, reliable, and secure network infrastructure. It connects these institutions to each other, to other national and international networks, and to the global Internet.

Renater's services include:

• High-speed Internet access: Providing fast and reliable connections to the Internet.
• Dedicated network connections: Offering dedicated bandwidth for specific research projects or collaborations.
• Security services: Protecting the network and its users from cyber threats.
• Support for research collaborations: Facilitating data transfer, video conferencing, and other tools for collaborative research.
• Eduroam access: Enabling seamless and secure wireless access for students and researchers visiting participating institutions.
• Support for IPv6: Actively promoting the adoption of IPv6 protocol.

Renater is a member of the GÉANT network, which connects European NRENs, enabling international research and education collaboration. It plays a critical role in supporting French research and education activities and fostering innovation on a national and international level.
