Raguhn (Verwaltungsgemeinschaft)
The Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Raguhn was an administrative community (Verwaltungsgemeinschaft) in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld, in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It was dissolved on January 1, 2010.
Location:
The Verwaltungsgemeinschaft was located in the eastern part of Anhalt-Bitterfeld.
History:
The Verwaltungsgemeinschaft Raguhn was formed to allow smaller municipalities to pool resources and manage administrative tasks more efficiently. It was dissolved as part of a larger administrative reform in Saxony-Anhalt.
Member Municipalities (as of dissolution):
- Jeßnitz (Anhalt) (until September 1, 2009)
- Marke
- Raguhn
- Retzau
- Schierau
- Thurland
Dissolution:
On January 1, 2010, the member municipalities of Marke, Raguhn, Retzau, Schierau, and Thurland merged to form the new town of Raguhn-Jeßnitz. Jeßnitz (Anhalt) had already merged with Bitterfeld to form Bitterfeld-Wolfen in 2007 and was no longer part of the Verwaltungsgemeinschaft by the time of its dissolution.
Functions:
The Verwaltungsgemeinschaft handled various administrative tasks for its member municipalities, including:
- Financial administration
- Building permits
- Social welfare
- Public order
