Raúl Madero (politician)
Raúl Madero (born April 21, 1888, Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico; died March 23, 1982, Mexico City) was a Mexican politician, revolutionary, and military figure who participated in the Mexican Revolution. He was the brother of Francisco I. Madero, a key figure in initiating the revolution and later President of Mexico.
Raúl Madero supported his brother's political activities and joined the anti-reelectionist movement against Porfirio Díaz. Following the outbreak of the revolution, he participated in armed struggles and held various military positions. He notably served as a General during the revolution.
After the assassination of Francisco I. Madero in 1913, Raúl Madero continued to be involved in Mexican politics and held various government positions, including serving as Governor of the State of Coahuila. He remained a prominent figure in post-revolutionary Mexico. His life and career are intrinsically linked to the Madero family's role in the Mexican Revolution and the subsequent political landscape of Mexico.
