R503 road (Ireland)
The R503 is a regional road in Ireland. It is a loop road off the N7 road (now part of the M7 motorway) between Nenagh and Limerick, running generally west of the motorway.
The R503 traverses a relatively rural area, connecting several villages and smaller settlements. Its route runs generally through County Tipperary and County Limerick.
The route generally proceeds from Nenagh in a southwesterly direction, passing through or near settlements such as Dolla and Rearcross before crossing into County Limerick. Within County Limerick, it passes through or near villages such as Newport and Birdhill. The road then rejoins the N7 (M7) near Limerick.
The R503 is typically a single-carriageway road. It is generally used by local traffic and as an alternative route to the M7 motorway. Traffic volume is lower than on the M7. Road quality varies along the route.
