Playfire

Playfire was a social networking service and online community targeted at gamers. It allowed users to connect their various gaming accounts across different platforms (e.g., Steam, PlayStation Network, Xbox Live) to track their gaming activity, including games played, achievements earned, and playtime. The service enabled users to share their gaming experiences with friends, discover new games, and participate in discussions related to gaming. Key features included activity feeds, friend lists, game libraries, and a recommendation system based on users' gaming habits. Originally developed independently, Playfire was acquired by Green Man Gaming in 2012. The platform was eventually shut down in 2018. Its functionality related to connecting and tracking game data has since been incorporated into other services and platforms.
