Pioneer Hall (Oregon)

Pioneer Hall is a historic residence hall located on the campus of Oregon State University (OSU) in Corvallis, Oregon. Built in 1887, it is the oldest building still in use on the OSU campus. Initially known as the "Dormitory," it was renamed Pioneer Hall in 1937 to honor Oregon's pioneers.

Pioneer Hall is constructed in the Victorian Italianate style, featuring red brick walls, arched windows, and a prominent bell tower. It originally housed both male and female students, with a central dining hall. Over time, it transitioned to an all-male residence hall.

Throughout its history, Pioneer Hall has served various functions, including housing classrooms and faculty offices in addition to student residences. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, recognizing its significance in Oregon's educational history and architectural heritage. Today, Pioneer Hall continues to operate as a residence hall for OSU students, providing a living environment rich in history and tradition.
