Minairó

Minairó, sometimes anglicized as Minairo, is a Galician mythological creature, specifically a house spirit or goblin. Descriptions of the Minairó are varied, but generally depict it as a small, mischievous being, often hairy and possessing incredible strength for its size.

The Minairó is said to perform tasks around the house at night, such as tidying, cleaning, or even helping with agricultural work. However, it is also known for its demanding nature. To keep a Minairó happy and working, it must be constantly given tasks to perform. If the Minairó is left idle, it may become destructive and wreak havoc on the household. A common saying is that if you don't give the Minairó something to do, it will ask for "lana e liño" (wool and flax), constantly demanding more materials until it becomes overwhelming. This endless demand represents the need to always keep the spirit occupied.
