Pfreimd (river)

The Pfreimd is a river in Bavaria, Germany. It is a left tributary of the Naab, and part of the Danube river system. The Pfreimd rises in the Upper Palatinate Forest, near Pleystein. It flows generally southwards, passing through the towns of Waidhaus, Eslarn, and Oberviechtach, before joining the Naab near Pfreimd (the town from which it derives its name). The river's length is approximately 76 kilometers (47 miles). It is a popular destination for kayaking and canoeing, particularly in its upper reaches. The Pfreimd valley is also known for its scenic beauty and hiking trails.
