Peter Wheeler (politician)

Peter Wheeler (born in London, England) is a British politician. He served as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the South East England constituency from 2004 to 2009. He was elected as a member of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP). During his time in the European Parliament, Wheeler served on the Committee on Transport and Tourism and the Committee on Petitions. He was a vocal advocate for British withdrawal from the European Union. Prior to entering politics, Wheeler worked in business and finance. Since leaving the European Parliament, he has remained active in UKIP, though less prominently. His political focus has primarily been on issues related to national sovereignty and immigration.
