Peter Haas (engraver)
Peter Haas (born 1754, died 1804) was a Swiss engraver and type founder. He was a member of the Haas family, a lineage renowned for their contributions to printing technology and typography. He is best known for his work on typefaces and his improvements to printing presses. He was active in Basel, Switzerland. His son, Wilhelm Haas (1790-1858), also continued the family's work in printing and type design.
