St Vincent (clipper ship)

The St Vincent was a British clipper ship built in 1866 by Alexander Stephen & Sons in Glasgow, Scotland, for Killick Martin & Company. She was designed for the China tea trade, and was considered a relatively fast clipper of her era, although not in the very first rank. She was known for her strong construction and reliability.

The St Vincent typically made voyages between London and the tea ports of China, such as Foochow and Shanghai. Her passages usually took around 100-110 days. She also engaged in the Australian wool trade on occasion.

Later in her career, the St Vincent was sold and continued in merchant service under different ownership. Her eventual fate is not consistently reported across sources; some accounts state she was wrecked, while others indicate she was sold for scrap. Definite details of her final disposition are difficult to confirm.
