Division 1 (bandy)

Division 1 is the second-highest bandy league in Sweden. It sits below Elitserien and above Division 2 in the Swedish bandy league system. Division 1 is generally divided into several geographically based groups, with the number of groups and teams in each group varying from season to season.

The top teams from Division 1 usually qualify for promotion playoffs or directly to Elitserien, depending on the specific rules set forth by the Swedish Bandy Federation (Svenska Bandyförbundet). The exact number of teams promoted also varies. Teams that finish at the bottom of their respective Division 1 groups are typically relegated to Division 2.

The competition in Division 1 is often fierce, as teams strive to reach the top tier of Swedish bandy. It serves as an important development ground for younger players and a league for established players who are not currently playing in Elitserien.
