Patty Griffin (album)
Patty Griffin is the eponymous tenth studio album by American singer-songwriter Patty Griffin. It was released on October 4, 2019, by her own PGM Recordings label, distributed through Thirty Tigers. The album marks Griffin's return after a six-year hiatus following her battle with cancer.
The album was largely recorded at Griffin's home in Austin, Texas, and was produced by Griffin and Craig Ross. The songs explore themes of mortality, resilience, love, and loss. Many of the tracks feature a raw and intimate sound, reflecting the personal and vulnerable nature of the songwriting. The album was critically acclaimed upon release, praised for its emotional depth, Griffin's vocal performance, and the stripped-down production. Several critics have described it as one of Griffin's strongest and most personal works.
