Order of Excellence (Bahamas)
The Order of Excellence is the highest honour that can be awarded in the Bahamian honours system. Established by an Act of Parliament, it recognizes outstanding and distinguished service to the Bahamas.
The honour is bestowed upon individuals who have made significant contributions at the national level, demonstrating excellence in their respective fields and a commitment to the betterment of the Bahamian society. This may include contributions to areas such as governance, public service, arts, sciences, education, business, and community development.
Recipients of the Order of Excellence are entitled to use the post-nominal letters "OE" after their names. The number of appointments to the Order is generally limited.
The Governor-General of the Bahamas, acting on the advice of the Prime Minister, makes appointments to the Order of Excellence.
