Panda (band)

Panda, often stylized as Pxndx, is a Mexican rock band formed in Monterrey, Nuevo León in 1996. The band gained mainstream popularity in the early 2000s with their emo-influenced pop punk sound.

History:

Panda originally started as a cover band playing songs by bands like Blink-182. They gradually developed their own original material and released their debut album, Arroz con Leche, in 2000. However, it was their second album, La Revancha del Príncipe Charro, released in 2002, that catapulted them to national recognition.

Their subsequent albums, including Para Ti Con Desprecio (2005) and Amantes Sunt Amentes (2006), solidified their position as one of the leading rock bands in Mexico. These albums explored themes of teenage angst, love, and social commentary.

Panda's later work saw the band experimenting with different musical styles, including alternative rock and even elements of electronic music.

Controversies:

Panda has been involved in several controversies throughout their career, primarily related to allegations of plagiarism. Critics have accused them of copying melodies and lyrics from other bands, including Yellowcard and Fall Out Boy.
