Pál Balkay

Pál Balkay (born in Budapest, Hungary) is a Hungarian mathematician and educator, specializing in the fields of geometry and combinatorics. He is primarily known for his contributions to Euclidean geometry, discrete geometry, and combinatorial geometry.

Balkay received his mathematical education in Hungary. He is associated with the Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) in Budapest, where he has been a long-time faculty member. He has been involved in the training of talented high school students for mathematical competitions, including the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Many of his former students have gone on to achieve notable success in mathematics.
