Ouhans

Ouhans is a former commune in the Doubs department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in eastern France. On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune Mouthier-Haute-Pierre. Its former inhabitants are known as Ouhanais. Geographically, Ouhans is situated in a rural area, characterized by forests and agricultural land. The local economy was primarily based on agriculture and small-scale industry. Historically, Ouhans shares a regional history with the Doubs department and the broader Franche-Comté region, including periods of Burgundian rule and eventual incorporation into France. The commune featured a church, mairie (town hall), and other typical village amenities. Since its merger, Ouhans functions as a delegated commune within Mouthier-Haute-Pierre.
