Ole Olsen (speedway rider)

Ole Olsen (born May 16, 1946, in Haderslev, Denmark) is a former professional speedway rider. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest speedway riders in the history of the sport.

Olsen achieved significant success throughout his career, most notably winning three Speedway World Championships in 1971, 1975, and 1978. He also secured several other major titles including the World Team Cup on multiple occasions and individual Danish Championships.

Known for his smooth riding style and tactical brilliance, Olsen was a highly respected competitor. He rode for various teams in the British League and other European leagues, earning a reputation for consistent performance and sportsmanship.

After retiring from racing, Olsen became involved in speedway promotion and management. He played a key role in the development of the Vojens Speedway Center in Denmark, which has hosted numerous major speedway events, including World Championship rounds and Grand Prix events.
