Onegin (1999 film) is a British-American romantic drama film directed by Martha Fiennes and starring Ralph Fiennes (her brother), Liv Tyler, Irene Worth, and Toby Stephens. It is based on Alexander Pushkin's 1825 novel in verse, Eugene Onegin, though the film's title omits the given name.

The film follows the story of Eugene Onegin, a jaded and cynical aristocrat who inherits his uncle's estate in the Russian countryside. He meets the idealistic and romantic Tatyana Larina, who falls deeply in love with him and writes him a passionate letter. Onegin rejects her advances, finding her provincial and uninteresting. Later, at Tatyana's name-day celebration, a flirtation between Onegin and Tatyana's younger sister, Olga, leads to a duel with Olga's fiancé, Onegin's friend Vladimir Lensky, which ends in Lensky's death.

Haunted by his actions, Onegin leaves the estate. Years later, he encounters Tatyana again in St. Petersburg, now married to a wealthy and respected General. He is struck by her newfound poise and sophistication and realizes the depth of his past mistake. He now declares his love for her, but Tatyana, though still harboring feelings for him, refuses to leave her husband and duty. The film concludes with Onegin left in despair, regretting his lost opportunity.
