Nsawam

Nsawam is a town in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It is located approximately 44 kilometers (27 miles) north of Accra, the capital city of Ghana.

Nsawam is known for its pineapple production, with the surrounding areas being major pineapple farming regions. The town serves as a commercial center for the agricultural produce of the surrounding areas.

The town is also home to the Nsawam Medium Security Prison, a significant correctional facility within the Ghanaian prison system.

Nsawam is part of the Akuapim South District, and its population contributes significantly to the overall district population. It has a diverse population with various ethnic groups represented.
