Nobili (crater)

Nobili is a lunar impact crater that is located on the far side of the Moon. It lies just to the north of the larger crater Strömgren. To the northeast of Nobili is the crater Friedmann, and to the southwest is the crater Crommelin.

This crater has a well-defined, circular rim that has suffered only a modest amount of erosion. The inner walls are simple slopes that run down to the interior floor. There are no significant craters along the rim or inner walls, and the floor is relatively featureless with only a few tiny craterlets marking the surface.

Nobili is named after Italian physicist Leopoldo Nobili.
