No Other Love (1950 song)

"No Other Love" is a popular song written by Richard Rodgers (music) and Oscar Hammerstein II (lyrics). It was introduced in the 1953 Rodgers and Hammerstein musical Me and Juliet.

Prior to Me and Juliet, the melody was originally composed by Rodgers in 1940 for a proposed musical based on the novel One Touch of Venus. The project was abandoned, but Rodgers kept the music. Hammerstein later added lyrics to the melody for Me and Juliet, giving birth to "No Other Love."

The song is a romantic ballad expressing a deep and unwavering affection. The lyrics convey a sense of complete devotion and contentment in the love being celebrated.

Perry Como's recording of "No Other Love" reached the top of the Billboard charts in 1953 and is perhaps the best-known version. Many other artists have recorded the song over the years, contributing to its enduring popularity.
