Hiroshi Yanai (publisher)

Hiroshi Yanai is a Japanese publisher and former editor-in-chief of the influential fashion magazine POPEYE. He assumed the role of editor-in-chief in 2012, succeeding Takahiro Kinoshita. During his tenure, Yanai significantly shaped POPEYE's editorial direction, solidifying its reputation as a leading source for men's style and lifestyle trends. He is credited with focusing on a more global and diverse perspective within the magazine, incorporating features on international fashion, culture, and travel. Prior to POPEYE, Yanai worked for other magazines published by Magazine House, the publishing company responsible for POPEYE. He left POPEYE in 2018, passing the editorship to Takahiro Watanabe. After leaving POPEYE, he became the editor-in-chief of Casa BRUTUS.
