Neverice

Neverice is a deprecated network virtualization technology from Juniper Networks. It allowed for the creation of virtual networks and services over a physical infrastructure. It enabled features like Layer 2 and Layer 3 VPNs, and could be used for cloud networking and network segmentation. The technology has been superseded by other Juniper solutions and is no longer actively developed or supported. Existing deployments might still exist, but new deployments are discouraged in favor of newer technologies like Contrail or Apstra. Functionally, Neverice aimed to provide network operators with increased flexibility and agility by abstracting the network infrastructure and enabling programmatic control over network resources. It offered features for multi-tenancy, resource isolation, and service chaining. The core principles behind Neverice involved using overlays and encapsulation to create logical networks on top of the existing physical network.
