Ned Kock
Ned Kock is a Brazilian academic known for his work in information systems, research methods, and evolutionary psychology. He is primarily recognized for his contributions to the development and promotion of WarpPLS, a software package and method for variance-based structural equation modeling (SEM).
Kock's research often focuses on applying evolutionary psychology principles to understand human behavior in organizational and technological contexts. He argues that many aspects of human interaction with technology and within organizations can be better understood by considering the evolved cognitive biases and predispositions of individuals.
His work on WarpPLS emphasizes the use of nonlinear relationships and full collinearity testing in SEM analysis. He has advocated for its use in situations where traditional covariance-based SEM methods may be less appropriate, such as with small sample sizes or non-normal data. WarpPLS aims to provide a more robust and user-friendly approach to variance-based SEM.
Kock has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles and books on research methods, statistics, information systems, and evolutionary psychology. His publications often address methodological challenges in social science research and propose solutions based on his work with WarpPLS and evolutionary perspectives.
