Natig Aliyev (sculptor)
Natig Aliyev (born October 20, 1958, in Baku, Azerbaijan; died May 17, 2019) was an Azerbaijani sculptor, known for his monumental and public artworks. He was a professor at the Azerbaijan State Academy of Fine Arts.
Aliyev graduated from the Azerbaijan State Art School named after Azim Azimzade in 1977 and from the sculpture department of the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts named after M.A. Aliyev in 1984.
His works often incorporated themes related to Azerbaijani history, culture, and folklore. He worked with a variety of materials, including bronze, marble, and stone.
Aliyev’s sculptures can be found in public spaces across Azerbaijan and internationally. He received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to Azerbaijani art.
