Mithrodia

Mithrodia is a genus of sea stars belonging to the family Mithrodiidae. These starfish are found primarily in tropical regions of the Indo-Pacific Ocean.

Mithrodia are characterized by their cylindrical arms, often displaying a distinctive knobby or lumpy appearance. The body typically has a central disc which may be indistinct or prominent depending on the species. They are often brightly colored, ranging from reds and oranges to yellows and browns.

Mithrodia species are generally considered to be omnivores, feeding on a variety of organisms including algae, sponges, and small invertebrates. They are generally found in shallow waters, often on coral reefs or rocky substrates.
