Mike Woodard (baseball)

Mike Woodard (born February 22, 1960) is a former professional baseball player and current coach. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a utility player primarily for the San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, and Toronto Blue Jays.

Woodard was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 3rd round of the 1981 MLB draft. He made his major league debut with the Giants in 1985 and played for them until 1987. He was traded to the Texas Rangers in 1988, where he played for two seasons. He finished his major league career with the Toronto Blue Jays in 1990.

Primarily a middle infielder, Woodard saw playing time at second base, shortstop, and third base. He was known for his versatility and ability to fill in at multiple positions.

Following his playing career, Woodard transitioned into coaching. He has held various coaching positions in the minor leagues, including managerial roles. He has also served as a coach for MLB teams.
